Information is general guidance
The content on this website is provided for general information about loft conversions, extensions and building work. It is not professional, structural, planning, legal or financial advice for your specific property.
Although we aim to keep information accurate and current, regulations, costs and availability can change. You should obtain property-specific advice and approvals before making decisions or starting work.
A quotation is based on a defined scope
A survey and written scope are required before a reliable quotation can be prepared. Quotations are based on the information available at the time, including the visible condition of the property and the access arrangements.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a quotation is not a fixed-price guarantee for unknown structural conditions, hidden defects, changes requested by you, or work required by a public authority after the quotation. We will explain any proposed variation and obtain your approval before proceeding.
- Scope, assumptions and exclusions are stated in writing
- Planning and Building Regulations responsibilities are identified
- Provisional sums and allowances are explained
- Changes are priced and agreed before work proceeds
Programme, access and cooperation
Indicative programmes depend on access, weather, material availability, approvals and decisions by you or others. We will communicate material delays and work with you to manage them.
You agree to provide reasonable access, information and decisions needed for the work, and to inform us of any known hazards, restrictions or lease obligations affecting the property.
Staged payments and completed work
Payment terms are set out in the project quotation and contract. Payments are normally linked to defined stages or milestones rather than large sums before work has been carried out.
Invoices should be paid in accordance with the agreed terms. If you have a concern about an invoice or the work, raise it promptly so it can be investigated and resolved.
Documentation at handover
Before work starts, you should satisfy yourself that the contractor has appropriate insurance and that the contractual terms, payment schedule and programme are clear. We can provide current insurance documentation for review.
At completion, we will explain the relevant certificates, guarantees, maintenance information and snagging arrangements for the work carried out. Guarantees and warranties are subject to their stated terms and any manufacturer conditions.
Raising a concern
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our project contract will set out the full liability, cancellation and dispute provisions that apply to the work.
If something is not right, contact us as soon as possible at info@atticconversionoxford.co.uk or on 07825 522857 so we can understand the issue and agree the next step. These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
